Dr.-Ing. arch. Jan Petrš

Jan Petrš is a researcher and computational architect originally from Prague. In January 2021 he obtained his doctoral degree at Faculty of Architecture at Czech Technical University in Prague. The main part of the research focused on the development of a new self-assembly reconfigurable system called MoleMOD, soft robotics, and responsive materials. Currently, he is working as a researcher at Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design (ITKE) and BioMat at University of Stuttgart, where investigated research focuses on the integration of soft actuators and smart systems into biobased materials. He worked on BioMat pavilion 2018 or Tailored Fibre Canopy 2019. Since 2019, his research is integrated into Excellence Cluster IntCDC. He is an author of several articles about architecture, materials, and technologies and co-founder of studio Archistroj.
